Radius Gallery is ushering in the fall with bold new works by the inimitable Kelsey Bowen. Her sculptures conjure a raucous childhood—part fairytale, part nightmare—with bruised knees and soiled clothes, loyal companionship and brazen betrayals, tenderness and unflinching violence. We never quite know if the animal “masks” worn by these characters betray or express their true natures. Alluring, powerful, and extraordinarily well crafted, the works in this show are not to be missed.
