“Werk it” is a vibrant celebration of drag, queer joy, and unapologetic self-expression.
In this installation, Ruby Thamm reimagines dolls through bedazzling, sewing, and repainting, drawing on iconic Australian foods, drag queens, and cultural references. Each transformed doll becomes a glamorous symbol of empowerment, embracing non-conformity and challenging gender norms.
Every doll in the exhibition is crafted with endurance and love, reflecting Ruby’s role as an ally standing alongside the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Werk it” invites audiences to embrace their inner diva, own their moment, and envision a brighter, more inclusive future.
