CONTINUING THREADLINES
Keynote Exhibition of SUI DHAGA
In collaboration with Ahad Anhad, Asia Pacific Crafts Alliance, Crafts Council of India, and Delhi Crafts Council, Arthshila presents The Continuing Threadline, the keynote exhibition of Sui Dhaga. Curated by Sujata Prasad and Oroon Das, the exhibition, celebrates embroidery as a living inheritance and a document of cultural history, the exhibition invites audiences to explore extraordinary craftsmanship, time-honoured making rituals, and diverse design sensibilities, tracing the threads of continuity and innovation across civilisations, regions, communities, and individual identities.
The opening programme will feature an exhibition walkthrough by textile and crafts scholar Sitthichai Samanchat, alongside Navtej Johar’s somatic response to Arpana Caur’s Yogi and The Water Weaver. The programme will also include Feminine Fables: Stories and Songs from the Asia Pacific, bringing together diverse perspectives, embodied practices, and traditions around embroidery.
