On Display: Artwork from the 2025 "Poet, Writer, Artist Studio Session on The Porch at Quarry Farm," an opportunity through Application to create self-guided work in an independent outdoor studio session, inspired by the Quarry Farm landscape, writings of Samuel L. Clemens, and/or lives of the Langdons and Clemens families, and/or other individuals/historical figures associated with Quarry Farm. During the two-hour en plein air Studio Session, accepted Applicants are expected to engage in creative work, such as, but not limited to, poetry, writing, songwriting, sketching, drawing, painting, photography, film, fashion and more.
Participants engage in self-directed, creative processes, using their own materials, such a journals, laptops and art supplies.
Final works of the creative process are expected to result from the Studio Session for premiere at an exhibition/reading/performance to follow at Community Arts of Elmira in spring of the following year.
The number of participants is limited. The work process cannot pose harm/hazard to others working nor to the historic environment. If the Studio Session is postponed, accepted applicants will carry over if/when the session is rescheduled. Again, space is limited. Only completed applications will be considered.
