He holds a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Franciscan University of Steubenville, is a member of the Akron-Canton IEEE Executive Committee, a board member of Akron Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies (ACESS), and the past president of Portage County Amateur Radio Service, Inc. (PCARS). He has been recognized for his service and contributions with the Portage County Amateur Radio Service Excellence Award and President's Award, as well as the ARRL Mentor Award.
