Join us for networking, free food and beverages and a thought-provoking talk delivered by NASA Scientist, Dr. Rodger Dyson on Finding Your Place in This World.Dr. Rodger Dyson has worked at the NASA Glenn Research Center for more than 34 years developing power, propulsion, and thermal technologies, supporting both aeronautics and space missions. He currently serves as a Power and Propulsion Technical Lead developing megawatt-scale electric aircraft propulsion, hypersonic integrated thermal and propulsion, Mars nuclear electric propulsion, lunar surface power, and Enceladus robotic power. He is a prolific inventor with more than 17 licensed patents, and previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Nirvana Energy Systems while commercializing one of his inventions. His most recent patent pending invention, Closed Strayton Quad Generator, received the Best Paper for Systems Award at the International AIAA/IEEE Aviation EATS Conference in 2023. NASA Glenn was originally established in 1941 as the Aircraft Engine Research Laboratory and this Strayton invention is the direct descendant of the over 80 years of engine research at the Center.
