We are excited to invite you to a special event Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at the Washington State Black Legacy Institute in West Seattle. We will be hosting an exclusive screening of the Essence Award-Winning film, Beyond Their Years, which chronicles the lives of Negro League legend, Buck O'Neill and NHL trailblazer Herb Carnegie. The film is produced by Wendy Lewis, a pioneering force in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion who has served in executive roles with the Chicago Cubs, Major League Baseball and with the McDonald's corporation. Ms. Lewis impact on baseball and corporate culture through DEI is immeasurable. This documentary film captures the lives of two iconic legends who in sports and society. The evening will begin navigate a challenging pathway in their time. The reception will start at 5:30 PM, followed by the screening at 6:00 PM.
