About the Instructor:
Dave Johnson spent 25 years at the Denver Zoo working with their elephant, rhino, and hippo populations. He retired in 2023 to lead KACF. Dave has over 40 years of animal experience, including assignments such as working as a bear biologist in Alaska, raising and releasing peregrine falcons in Kentucky, and establishing an extensive conservation movement in Nepal. In 2025, Dave was nominated for the Indianapolis Prize, one of the world’s highest honors in animal conservation.
