About this Event
What are the long-term effects of excessive sentencing on individuals, families and communities? Join a panel conversation to explore the state of excessive sentencing in the United States as well as in countries like Finland and Norway, and learn about diverse policies in California and Massachusetts that have led to a decline in excessive sentencing. Panelists will include two students from the MyTERN Program at Tisch College, award-winning writer and Pr*son reform activist Kenneth Hartman, and renowned civil rights lawyer Michael Meltsner.
This event is hosted by the Tufts University Pr*son Initiative of Tisch College (TUPIT) in collaboration with MA activist Bob Marra and Saint Susanna’s Pr*son Ministry program.
