Three years ago, Flock Safety cameras were installed throughout Excelsior Springs as a tool for local law enforcement. Since then, a growing national conversation has emerged around the use of automated license plate reader technology, including questions about privacy, data collection, access, and public safety.
Excelsior Citizen and ESPD want to bring that conversation to the community.
On September 15, we will host a community Town Hall with members of the Excelsior Springs Police Department to give residents an opportunity to learn more about how Flock cameras are being used locally and to ask questions directly. Police Chief Greg Dull will be there to discuss the system and respond to community concerns.
