Now celebrating more than 100 years, Exbury Gardens is a spectacular collection of woodland, herbaceous, contemporary, formal and wildflower gardens. At over 200 acres, these impressive gardens (created and managed by the Rothschild family) border the Beaulieu River and boast a narrow-gauge steam railway, plus a newly-refurbished restaurant and an outdoor cafe.
Escape the cares of the world as you explore Exbury’s myriad of pathways lined with rare trees and shrubs at your own pace. Seasonal highlights include rhododendrons and
azaleas in spring, herbaceous borders and hydrangeas in summer and acer and nyssa in autumn.

We also include a ride on the narrow gauge steam railway.
Departing from Exbury Central Station, the train meanders through the Summer Lane Garden (not accessible by foot) before skirting past the Rock Garden, travelling through the tunnel and then stopping off at Exbury North to refuel. The return journey includes a circle of Dragonfly Pond, where passengers can watch out for wildlife, before heading back to Exbury Central.
Route may change depending on weather or special events.
