Saturday, June 20th from 9am-4pm Edinburgh Wrestling Club will host a wrestling camp. This event is being organized as a charity fundraiser, with 100% of proceeds going directly to support Jake O’Brien’s daughter, who is currently battling brain and spine cancer. This event will feature an outstanding lineup of clinicians:
Jake “Irish” O’Brien – A UFC veteran fighter from Indianapolis and former NCAA Division I wrestler, O’Brien was a standout at Purdue University and competed in the UFC heavyweight division, earning wins against top-level competition. He brings elite-level experience in both wrestling and mixed martial arts, along with a strong reputation for mentoring young athletes.
Joey Buttler – An accomplished wrestler with Indiana University and a coach with extensive experience developing athletes at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Butler has trained multiple state-level competitors and is known for his technical precision, particularly in positional wrestling and match strategy.
Brandon Wright – A national champion wrestler for Grand View University with a decorated competitive career, Wright has earned national-level honors and brings a high-level technical approach to training. His experience competing and coaching at elite levels makes him an outstanding clinician for wrestlers of all ages.
The event will be open to the public, with a $25 entry fee, and will be promoted to wrestling clubs and families within a 15–20 mile radius of Edinburgh and perhaps beyond.
We believe this event presents a meaningful opportunity to:
- Support a family facing significant medical challenges
- Provide high-quality instruction and inspiration for student-athletes
- Positively represent Edinburgh through community engagement and service
