About this Event

, a collaboration between the Barnes Foundation and local arts and culture organizations in West Philadelphia, is happy to celebrate the fourth year of its banner program: Everyday Places Artist Partnerships.

Through Everyday Places Artist Partnerships, Barnes WEST aims to highlight the intersection of art and community. By facilitating an avenue for Philadelphia-based social impact artists to create a space where residents can drive art created and experienced right where they live in partnership with places that residents frequent "everyday".

You're invited to celebrate these local artists and community partners for the launch of the 4th Annual Everyday Places Artist Partnerships.

Meet the artists and learn how you can participate in their projects. Complimentary drinks and heavy appetizers will be provided for guests.

Qiaira Riley & Yannick Lowery at The Arts League

Multidisciplinary artists Qiaira Riley and Yannick Lowery will work as an artist collective to lead a series of interdisciplinary workshops and community meals at The Arts League. Titled “Shaking the Table,” the series will explore the collective and personal relationships people have with Black ephemera and popular culture through art making and food.

Lori Waselchuk at Writers Room

Photographer and educator Lori Waselchuk will partner with Drexel’s Writers Room to organize and facilitate community photography workshops and a photo walk that highlights neighborhood leaders, amplifies local knowledge, and documents community-building. She will collaborate with community organizers and a hyperlocal mutual-aid project to capture and share current happenings in West Philly.

Irene Osorio at Dyke+ArtHaus

Irene Osorio will lead a series of sustainability-focused mending workshops at Dyke+ ArtHaus, a community-driven, feminist home for queer and lesbian artists of West Philadelphia. Osorio’s workshops will allow neighbors and residents to drop in to repair, mend, or upcycle clothing, fabrics, and other items.
