Everyday AI Series #4: Privacy and Personal Information
About this Event
Join us for Week 4 of the Everyday AI: From Curious to Confident series, an engaging learning journey designed to help residents of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities understand, explore, and use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely and responsibly.
In this 90-minute session, participants will learn to know what not to put into AI tools and why it matters. Through safe, real-world examples, participants will practice classifying various types of information, such as a Medicare number, a recipe, a fictional address, and a club notice, into the correct risk categories: safe (green), be careful (amber), and do not enter (red).
This workshop is practical, supportive, and designed for everyone. Participants will learn the following skills:
- Data-Risk Traffic Light: Classify any information before entering it into an AI tool.
- Privacy-Safe Prompting: Use only safe or fictional data when writing your prompts.
- Redaction: Remove or replace sensitive details before sharing with any tool.
- Apply Safe AI Practices: Always use a human review checklist before trusting or acting on any AI response
Learning Outcome
By the end of this session, you will know what not to put into AI tools. You will leave with a completed Privacy Habit Card your personal record of what you practiced and the privacy habits you will change, including what to stop, start, and check.
