About this Event

Join us for Week 2 of the Everyday AI: From Curious to Confident series, an engaging learning journey designed to help residents of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities understand, explore, and use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely and responsibly.

In this 90-minute session, participants will learn to use AI for planning, drafting messages, and simple everyday organisation. Through safe, real-world examples such as drafting a message to organise a community morning tea participants will build confidence in interacting with AI without sharing personal information

This workshop is practical, supportive, and designed for everyone. Participants will learn how to:

  • Task Planning: Break a goal into clear, manageable steps.
  • Message Drafting: Create a first draft of a polite, purposeful message.
  • Tone Adjustment: Refine the language to suit your audience and purpose.
  • Protect Personal Information: Always substitute real private information with fictional or practice data.
  • Apply Safe AI Practices: Use a human review checklist before acting on any AI response and verify facts independently.

Learning Outcome

By the end of this session, you will be able to use AI for planning, drafting messages, and simple everyday organisation using safe, fictional practice data. You will leave with a completed Everyday Task Worksheet your personal record of what you tried and what you would check before real use, which you can continue to practise with at home.
