Every great city has a place where writers naturally find one another. Think about Paris. People didn't go to cafés because they were writers. They went because Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, James Baldwin, and artists were there. The attraction wasn't writing. The attraction was proximity to interesting people.
Simply because great conversations happen when creative people share the same room.
It Was Written is NOLA Art Bar's weekly gathering for writers, storytellers, journalists, poets, songwriters, playwrights, readers, publishers, and anyone who enjoys being around people with something to say.
Whether you're writing your first novel, editing your latest screenplay, jotting ideas into a notebook, or simply enjoying a glass of wine while surrounded by creative minds, you'll find yourself in the company of people who believe stories have the power to shape the world.
There is no formal program. No microphone. No pressure to share your work.
Just a beautiful atmosphere, thoughtfully crafted cocktails, wine, coffee, tea, small bites, and the kind of conversations that begin with, "So...what are you working on these days?"
