A practical training day for school staff on asthma care, emergency treatment, policies and best practice.
About this Event

Join us for Every Breath Counts, a dedicated training day designed to help school staff understand the latest asthma guidance and confidently support children and young people with asthma in educational settings.

Asthma is one of the most common long-term health conditions affecting children and a leading cause of school absence. With pupils spending much of their day in school, staff play a vital role in recognising symptoms, supporting treatment plans and responding appropriately during an asthma emergency.

This practical and informative event will explore the new asthma guidelines and their implications for schools, including emergency salbutamol use, asthma action plans, staff responsibilities, asthma-friendly policies and the introduction of new treatments such as MART (Maintenance and Reliever Therapy).

Attendees will leave with greater confidence in supporting pupils with asthma, improving safety and wellbeing, and helping their school work towards becoming an Asthma Friendly School.

Suitable for school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs, pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, first aiders, PE staff and anyone involved in supporting pupils with medical needs.

Lunch provided; please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.

The venue is fully accessible. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking.

If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite so that the place can be offered to another school.
