Evergreen Stamford Hosts a Fun, Free Event for Seniors and Caregivers on Dec. 9th

Evergreen Daytime Senior Care invites seniors and their caregivers to enjoy a special free holiday event with live music and fun activities on Friday December 9th 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The event will take place at their beautiful indoor 2500 square foot studio at 884 Newfield Avenue (back of St. John’s Lutheran Church). Guests will be treated to cookies and hot cocoa and live music with singer Barbara Espinosa Occhino and guitarist Carmine Marino. The event entertainment is part of the Evergreen Joy of Music series. The Barbara’s Serenade live jazz acoustic duo will perform nostalgic music of the Big Band and Rat Pack eras along with holiday favorites. Singer Barbara Espinosa Occhino is a multilingual vocalist who has performed locally at The Palace Stamford Mayor's After-noon of Jazz Orchestra Lumos events Carriage Barn Gallery Waveny House of New Canaan libraries festivals yacht clubs corporate events and Metro New York area venues (see BarbaraEntertains.com). Carmine Marino is a dynamic guitarist who has performed at The Waldorf The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts The Palace prominent resorts and notable Manhattan clubs accompany-ing vocalists like Marion Cowings (New York Philharmonic) Melba Joyce and Maydie Miles among others. 

Based on their "meaningful engagement" method Evergreen takes a holistic approach toward daytime senior care. Caregivers enjoy the peace of mind of knowing their loved ones are being cared for by a trained experienced staff. Programs cater to older adults who are reasonably mobile (independently or with assistance) those with minor physical or cognitive challenges and those showing early signs of Alzheimer's or dementia. From Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm members participate in games arts and crafts fitness classes cognitive stimulation nature walks garden tai chi group discussions and other indoor and outdoor activities.
