Any developer will say that monolithic architecture belongs to the past and microservices are the way to go. But is it always true? In this talk, we will go over the trade-offs between monolithic and microservices architectures, when to use which and common pitfalls.

The importance of distributed tracing in Microservices Microservices and event-driven architectures provide us tons of benefits, however, the observability becomes a pain to every developer on their day-to-day tasks. As their complexity grows, sometimes it is impossible to understand how processes flow in the architecture, which makes troubleshooting or optimizations complicated. In this talk I’m going to share techniques and methods to observe such systems, using distributed tracing, OpenTelemetry, and some real-world examples.
