Enjoy an evening learning about multimedia artist and educator, Sarah Rodriguez. Her work is an archive of tangible memories, studying themes of kinship and belonging. Through imagery drawn from everyday life, she weaves together pieces of nature, place, and objects, crafting narratives that radiate the deep human desire for connection. Hear from the artist about her creative journey and then enjoy a guided art making. For each program attended, you can earn CEU’s and 1-2 graduate credits for an additional fee.
About Evenings for Educators
Evenings for Educators is the museum’s monthly teacher professional development program. Through the lens of the museum’s collection and exhibitions, Evenings for Educators supports all subjects taught in the classroom. It also encourages a STREAM approach as well as Twenty-First Century Learning strategies. The program is offered for teachers of all grade levels and disciplines, art appreciation volunteers, pre-service education majors, teaching artists, as well as community and museum educators.
About The Artist
Sarah Rodriguez (b.1992) is a multimedia artist and educator in Cincinnati, OH. Her work is an archive of tangible memories, investigating themes of kinship and belonging. Using imagery from life, she weaves together nature, place, and objects. She received her M.F.A from Miami University (2017) and B.F.A from Wright State University (2014). She is currently an Academic Advisor for Art & Design at Northern Kentucky University (2024-present) and recipient of The ArtsWave Black & Brown Program: Truth & Innovation Grant (2024). She has completed residencies at The School of Art, Chautauqua Institute, NY (2014), Contemporary Arts Center, OH (2019-2020), V2 Gallery, ArtWorks, OH (2023-2024) and was a Dayton Art Institute’s William and Dorthy Yeck Fellow (2014).
