Evening With History lecture, scheduled for Monday, January 27th, at 6pm. This event will feature Amy Albers, Georgia Room Library Assistant, who will speak on "The Last Slave Ships to the South." The last two ships that held enslaved Africans arrived on U.S. shores fifty years after the Transatlantic slave trade was outlawed. We'll discuss the ships, the secrecy, and the men responsible for Jekyll Island's Wanderer and Mobile's Clotilda. Amy Albers, MLIS is a Marietta resident and Library Assistant in the Georgia Room, Cobb County's Genealogy and Local History department.
