To celebrate the life and work of one of England’s greatest painters, we are running a course about drawing and painting with the vivid colours and simplified designs characteristic of David Hockney’s style. We will look at various phases from his long and varied career, and replicate the methods he employed. There will be opportunities to work in watercolour, acrylic paint, and, for those with electronic devices at hand, digital media as well; iPad drawing or photography.
Hockney’s joie de vivre, his love of looking at the world shines through in all his pictures. This course is well-suited to anyone who wants to learn to paint in a similarly free and uninhibited manner. It is for those who hope to speed up their drawing and colour mixing, and make a more immediate response to the visual experiences by which one is inspired.
All artist-quality materials are included in the price of the classes.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided.
