About this Event
Six months after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Europe’s leaders, faced with soaring inflation, a cost of living crisis and the real prospect of energy rationing this winter, are having to rethink their response to the war.
In Ukraine, the worst war on the continent since the 1940s continues. There has been enormous destruction and loss of life, while millions of people have been displaced.
Now, Europe is heading into what could be one of its hardest winters in recent memory and all are feeling the impact of Russia's invasion, caused by its control over energy supplies.
There have been trade disruptions, defence budget rethinks, and political disagreements about how to respond to the ongoing conflict.
Will a winter energy crisis affect public support? How long will political support for Ukraine within Europe last? What does it mean for the future of European defence? And how deep are the divisions about how best to support Ukraine?
