About this Event

Join us for a concert of some of the talented musicians from the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO). Marshall Marcus, the Executive & Artistic Director of the EUYO, will present the musicians from the stage, and talk briefly about Schönberg and the Orchestra’s work.

The Orchestra’s performance at the ACFNY takes place as part of the 2024 Summer Tour. Following a rehearsal residency in Krems and Grafenegg, Lower Austria, EUYO will take part in WOW! – World Orchestra Week, a unique celebration of international youth orchestras personally curated by Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall. It will also appear at Bolzano Festival Bozen (Italy), the Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), the Edinburgh International Festival (Scotland), and Young Euro Classic (Berlin). EUYO’s concert of Schoenberg and Zemlinsky is curated from an earlier, all-day celebration in Vienna of the 150th anniversary of Schoenberg’s birth.

2024 events following the Summer Tour include the Bridging Europe Festival (Budapest and Brussels), the European Cultural Heritage Summit (Bucharest), and a residency partnership with the Stauffer Center for Strings (Cremona). An online Model Sharing Symposium will take place in October, and a new Music Hub Italia programme will be launched in partnership with Bolzano as UNESCO Creative City of Music.
