🎨🌿 Arts & Crafts Picnic | European Summer Edition ☀️

Spend a slow summer afternoon creating, connecting, and embracing the beauty of summer with Ottawa Social Girl Club.

Our annual Arts & Crafts Picnic is back, and this year we’re bringing a little taste of European Summer to Ottawa.

Think linen dresses, flowy skirts, woven bags, fresh flowers, silk scarves, oversized sunglasses, fruit-filled picnic baskets, and an afternoon that feels like you’re spending a slow summer day somewhere along the Mediterranean coast.

Whether you’re joining us on your own or bringing a friend, this event is all about slowing down, trying something new, meeting amazing women, and enjoying an afternoon of creativity in one of Ottawa’s most beautiful parks. No artistic experience is needed—just come ready to create, laugh, and make new memories.

When registering, you’ll be asked to select one main activity so we can prepare the appropriate supplies.

🎭 Live Portrait Artist

We’re excited to welcome a local portrait artist who will be creating beautiful hand-drawn portraits throughout the event. Portraits will be completed throughout the afternoon on a first-come, first-served basis, giving you a unique keepsake to remember the day.

Capture your European Summer outfit or snap a photo with your new friends at our themed mirror setup.

🖨️ Instant Photo Station

Take a photo with your new friends and we’ll print it for you on the spot using our retro photo printer, so you’ll leave with a physical keepsake from the day.

🧺 What to Bring

Please bring something comfortable to sit on, such as a picnic blanket, beach towel, camping chair, or cushion, as we won’t be able to provide seating for everyone.

Want to fully embrace the theme? Feel free to bring your favourite picnic basket, fresh flowers, books, fruit, or other picnic accessories to create your own cozy picnic setup. It’s completely optional, but we’d love to see everyone’s unique picnic style.

Have a favourite board game? Bring it along! Whether it’s UNO, Dutch Blitz, Bananagrams, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, or another easy-to-learn game, we’d love to have a few games scattered throughout the picnic for anyone who wants to join in. Bringing a game is completely optional.

If you enjoy reading, journaling, sketching, knitting, crocheting, or another relaxing hobby, you’re more than welcome to bring it along. This afternoon is all about slowing down and enjoying the company of others.

Think effortless, relaxed, and romantic. Linen, cotton, florals, matching sets, flowy dresses, sandals, woven bags, light colours, and outfits that make you feel like you’re spending the afternoon on the Italian coast, in Greece, or the South of France.

Come ready to create something beautiful, meet new friends, enjoy delicious food, and spend a slow summer afternoon surrounded by an incredible community of women.
