Dear friends, we would like to invite you to our forthcoming Refugee Week launch event (in collaboration with Community Base and with No Hate Speech UK) in the evening on Monday, 17th of June:
“The Home I Housed in My Heart”
An evening to celebrate the Refugee Week with communities
Date: Monday, 17 June 2024
Time: 6.30pm - 9.30pm
Venue: Conference Room, 5th Floor, Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XG.
Admission Free - All Welcome

The theme for Refugee Week 2024 is “Our Home”. In line with the theme, we will have several forms of performances including the following:
Stories of refugees who are featured in our Jubilee Library exhibition (“Home: Faraway Yet Within”)
Refugee poetry (bilingual; UK & global)
Short videos
Handcrafts exhibition
Music from all over the world, including music by refugees
Folk dance workshop
Free publications to take away
Free food and drinks (vegetarian and vegan recipes)
Goodie bags (we have little presents for you!)
Trailers for EuroMernet Film Club screenings for the June – August period

Before, during and after the Refugee Week, EuroMernet Film Club will screen over a dozen films from around the world on the same theme. EuroMernet Poetry Club and Radio EuroMernet will also host two sessions.
