Eureka High School Class of 1977 - 45 Year Class Reunion!

It’s that time! Time to reminisce, eat, drink, laugh, dance and have a good time reconnecting with our classmates! We invite you and your guest to join us for an amazing evening as we celebrate our 45th Class Reunion in our hometown of Eureka! We will share old memories and make some new ones. It will be a great party, and we hope you can make it!

• 5:30 p.m. Doors Open - Eureka Elks Lodge

• 5:30-6:30 p.m. No-Host Welcome Cocktail Reception

• 6:00-10:00 p.m. Photo Booth Open

• 6:30-7:45 p.m. Group Dinner & Program

• 8:00-11:00 p.m. Dancing the night away to the sounds of Backstreet Band!

Dinner includes your choice of Prime Rib, Chicken, or Vegetarian Entree. Dinner comes with salad, baked potato, vegetable side, bread, coffee, and dessert.

Ticket price includes costs for the venue, dinner and dessert, live music entertainment, photography, decorations, and registration. All guests must purchase a ticket to attend, so be sure to purchase two (2) tickets if you are bringing a guest. Your friends and fellow classmates from other EHS classes are also welcome to attend, so spread the word if you have a friend from another class who would like to attend! We have done our best to find everyone in our class on social media and by personal outreach, but please help us by sharing this Eventbrite registration page link with other classmates you are in touch with.

FIRST OF ALL, BOOK YOUR HOTEL ASAP (even if you think you might attend, but are not sure quite certain yet)! Our event is competing with the Redwood Coast Music Festival that same weekend and hotels are booking up fast! So, hurry and check out Hotels.com, Airbnb, or other travel or hotel websites to book your hotel room before there are none to reserve. Hotels with availability when we last checked include Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Clarion Hotel by Humboldt Bay, Eureka Inn by Wyndham, Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn, and Bear River Casino Resort. The Eureka Elks Lodge is a great venue for events like ours and is the most affordable place in Eureka to have a large party with dinner and dancing! It offers lots of space to visit and catch-up with friends, including an outdoor deck area, a large dance floor with adjoining bar area and lots of cocktail tables, a roomy dance floor, pool tables, and an expansive dining room. Parking is free and plentiful, drinks are inexpensive, and the food is good and reasonably priced. (Please note that the Elks will comply with all required local and state public health guidelines with regard to Covid-19 safety. Also, smoking of any kind including vapor devices designed to deliver nicotine is prohibited within any structure and within 20 feet of any door or window designed to be open.)

We want you all to be comfortable and to be YOU, and the most important thing we want you to bring is yourself, for sure! Attire can be casual to cocktail dressy and everything in between. Most people will opt for cocktail attire or dressy casual. Please note that no hats are allowed inside the Elks Lodge.

We will have a super cool, super fun, super popular state-of-the-art full-length Selfie Photo Mirror for our reunion party! It is so much more than a traditional photo booth, and with an interactive touchscreen and a full-size mirror, it produces excellent quality, instant photographs. You will have the option to print unlimited 4x6 glossy color photos to take home with you that night or you can have photos texted or emailed to you, all free of charge. Plus, all photos taken that evening will be available to all of us via an online gallery. You can take nice photos of you with your spouse or partner, with your elementary school friends, with your best friend or with any combination of friends from high school, with another couple or two; and you can do a more formal sitting or use all the fun props for some silly-crazy-fun photos with your buddies – the possibilities are endless. And again, we can print unlimited 4x6 photos all night long at no cost to you! We will also take a group class photo and we will get you a digital copy of that too!

Friday, September 30th

• 4:00 p.m. (tentative time) EHS Campus Tour - We are planning a late-afternoon guided tour of Eureka High School campus. It has been 45 years since we walked those halls, so this will be a special treat to go back and visit and to also see all the new remodeling and construction. Please indicate your interest when you register, as we will need a list of names to submit to EHS administration office before the tour. Look for more details on this! It will be a kick!

• 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. (tentative time) Icebreaker – Our classmate Greg Parker is planning a no-host cocktail icebreaker, location TBA. Come see everyone, enjoy a beverage, and share a few laughs with us! Nothing fancy or formal, let’s just get together to unwind, reconnect and chat before the big Saturday night reunion. We will be posting more information on details, location and exact time.

Saturday, October 1st

• 12:00 -2:00 p.m. Picnic Lunch at Sequoia Park - We are also tentatively planning on an informal gathering at the park for a bring-your-own-lunch picnic. Please indicate your interest when you register.

• Redwood Skywalk at Sequoia Park & Zoo - If you have not already toured this, we highly recommend checking out the new Redwood Skywalk! The Zoo and Skywalk are open daily 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Prices are $12.95 for Seniors 60+ and Military (with ID) for Humboldt County residents, and $22.95 for non-residents. • 5:30 p.m. - Reunion Dinner & Dance at Eureka Elks Lodge

We will be following all county, state, public health, and venue Covid-19 safety requirements and guidelines in place at the time of our reunion. We want this event to be safe and we want you to feel safe! Therefore, we encourage everyone to practice good Covid-19 safety protocols, including testing before you attend and handwashing during our event. Currently, there is no requirement to wear masks, to provide proof of vaccination, or to provide a recent negative test result. However, you are welcome to wear a mask if you prefer, and we will have masks available should you need one. Dinner tables will be spread out to allow for distancing between groups, and doors and windows will be open for increased air ventilation.

Eventbrite’s registration fee is non-refundable. Also, keep in mind this event is self-funded and we pay all event expenses (and contract with vendors) based on projected attendance and actual ticket sale revenue. Some deposits and expenses have been fronted personally by reunion planning committee members. We do our best to project an accurate budget based on anticipated turnout while keeping the ticket price as low as possible. When you purchase a ticket to attend, we plan accordingly by ordering your meal, etc. Therefore, our policy is to not issue refunds unless there are extenuating circumstances. We hope you understand.
