It's the return of The Fast Folk Underground ! Another evening of musical enterprise presenting more tales of lust, love, liquor, heartache, outlaws, trains, murder, freedom, betrayal and other salacious topics FEATURING...EUGENE RIPPER - trailblazing Canadian punk folk rocker. From his roots with Canada’s first wave surf punk rockers Stark Naked and the Fleshtones and throughout a solo career featuring a mashup of punk, folk, blues, country rockabilly and rock n roll, Ripper nails it down with his unique musical vibe all wrapped up in DIY punk rock ethos.
Author, raconteur, bard and barfly AARON CHAPMAN tells some two-fisted tales on the neon reflected streets of Vancouver in a number of his books on the history of Vancouver (Liquor, Lust and the Law, The Last Gang in Town, Vancouver Vice). As a musician, (ex-Real McKenzies, The Town Pants, Bocephus King) and in his own recorded work showcases the unique twilight noir, which he’ll present in a rare live solo performance (well, aided and abetted by a few friends and special guests that evening) that will take over the Penthouse’s Tyrant Studios with some songs and stories of his own as part of the card that evening.

White is a stunning vocalist. The former front-person for Vancouver’s indie alt country fixtures TrailerHawk joins the fray at the Fast Folk Underground as a very special guest to present some of her favourite material specially selected for this show. And all this while her new project “Caution Horse” gears up for a big reveal in 2025 (so keep your ear to the ground and eyes to the sky for that! ) At this show expect a performance that will soar with both soulful high notes and sublime style - that’s a lock! And look for White to join Ripper and Chapman at some point throughout the evening as well.

About The Fast Folk Underground
Throughout the 21st century, from coast to coast and beyond, pioneering punk folk artist Eugene Ripper has staged, with some mighty awesome help from list of musical friends and fellow travellers, an ongoing series of underground events in Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax and New York City featuring a cavalcade of all things Fast, folk or underground.
The cast of characters include the likes The Sadies, Joe Keithley, Mr Wrong, I Braineater, Hard Rock Miners, Nardwuar, Fond of Tigers, The Lowest of the Low, Matthew Good, Billy Cowsill, The Mahones, The Wooden Sky, The Waltons, Jack Dekeyzer, Herald Nix, The Washington Squares, Dave Bidini, hHead, Don Ross, Bob Wiseman, Billy Ficca, Matt Mays and Harrison Ford (yes, that Harrison Ford)
