If ratified, the agreement would connect a market of more than 700 million people across Europe and South America and significantly reshape trade, investment and geopolitical relations between the two regions.
In this event, we will explore the EU–Mercosur agreement from a political and economic perspective. The discussion will look at the historical background of the negotiations, the geopolitical motivations behind the agreement, and the broader implications for EU trade policy and EU–Latin America relations.
The talk will be given by Carlos Sales Lind, who will provide insights into the agreement, the political dynamics surrounding it, and what the future may hold for EU–Mercosur cooperation.
