About this Event
Kara Juszczak, LCSWR, co-owner of Tree of Hope Counseling will facilitate this session.
Kara is a licensed clinical social worker, and a seasoned supervisor and trainer. She offers consultation and training around ethics and boundaries.
Topics to be discussed will include the ethical, professional, legal and clinical boundaries; the establishment and maintenance of boundaries at the outset of and during psychotherapy including issues of multiple relationships, at- risk patients and social media; the challenge of vulnerable patients and therapists; and maintaining clinical creativity and flexibility within the therapeutic frame. The potential harm and legal consequences of boundary violations will also be reviewed.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will identify ethical dilemmas that they encounter in practice.
- Participants will increase awareness the professional boundaries and how to communicate/enforce them.
- Participants will increase understanding of the risks of boundary and ethical violations.
Tree of Hope Counseling, LCSW, PLLC, is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0322.
** This course will provide continuing education hours for SW, LMHCs and LCATs.**
This course is 3 (three) contact hours.
