About this Event

Ethan Jewell -

At only 20 years old, Ethan Jewell’s emotional and raw musical poetry speaks straight to the heart. Combining gentle piano melodies with touching and profound lyricism, Ethan opens a window to the vulnerable and wounded part of the human experience. He is a strong believer in mental health awareness and hopes to help his listeners feel their feelings without judgement. With dozens of releases under his belt, Ethan’s prolific songwriting has reached hundreds of thousands of people and garnered millions of streams since he began posting his pieces online only three short years ago. He hopes to reach as many people as he can with his art and help them become closer to, and more connected with their emotions.

Mae Krell -

Armed with earnest lyricism and her acoustic guitar, Mae Krell’s branch of indie-folk personifies the often overlooked emotions and experiences that come with modern life. After starting out as a freelance photographer (with credits at Sony RCA and Rolling Stone), Mae realized at just seventeen years old that she had a story that needed to be told from somewhere other than behind the camera. Now an established musician and firm believer in making music that feels authentic to her own life experiences, Mae continually expresses her innermost thoughts on each song she writes. With the help of producer and multi-instrumentalist Jakob Leventhal, Mae’s unique sound offers a perfect cushion for the deeply vulnerable discussions of mental health and the struggles that plague daily life. Following the success of her 2020 single “garden”, Mae’s latest releases: the imposter syndrome EP and the subsequent imposter syndrome (b sides) revel in poignant and honest evaluations of the world through her eyes. Mae’s genuine lyricism and fierce desire to break the shame barrier and stigma around mental health has resonated far and wide as she embarked on a nationwide tour in partnership with Sofar Sounds this past summer. In addition, Mae is one of the 2022 recipients of the LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award through the Music Forward Foundation in partnership with CitiBank, which offers just 15 recipients each year with a grant to support their creative artistry. Her heartfelt music continues to offer representation for those who are so often left out of the conversation, and with such an organic and broad range of support, Mae is reaching new heights within her own lyrical vulnerability – all while being focused on experiencing life just one day at a time.Armed with earnest lyricism and her acoustic guitar, Mae Krell’s branch of indie-folk personifies the often overlooked emotions and experiences that come with modern life.
