About this Event
Join us for an exclusive performance by Spanish dancer and choreographer Olatz Larunbe, as she presents the culmination of her artistic residency with Company | E at the Spanish Cultural Center in Washington, D.C.
ETENA DENA is a contemporary dance piece that reflects on the acceleration of time in today’s society, positioning pause as an act of resistance. Inspired by The Burnout Society and The Scent of Time by Byung-Chul Han, the work explores the tension between hyperactivity and the deep desire to slow down, creating a shared space of contemplation and attentive presence. Through movement, the body moves across states of speed, excess, and collapse, eventually opening the possibility of stillness. Six performers build a physical and emotional journey where movement becomes a poetic and political language, revealing the exhaustion, pressure, and invisible rhythms that shape our daily lives.
