Here are the short bios that tells the stories of the collaborative DJ’s:
1. DJ Aakmael
Aakmael is a DJ and Deep House Music pioneer from Richmond, VA who creates some of the deepest and rawest house music track of today’s Deep House scene. His mixes contain the perfect blends of smooth vocal tracks as well as hard hitting Deep House instrumentals.
Aakmael has held down a Deep House music radio show for over 20 years and has been featured on respected dance labels such as Uzuri, NDATL, Axe on Wax, and Church UK to name a few. DJ Aakmael’s legacy continue’s to flourish in the House Music genre.
2. Jovonn
Jovonn, a pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey, 90's house sound, he's produced many classics with releases such as as "Back In the Dark", "Garage Shelter", "I Can't Make Up My Mind", "I Wanna Go To A Club" that all contain Jovonn's distinctive vocal delivery and trade mark production, as the man says himself 'gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and a phat bassline'.
More recently he's delivered releases on prestigious labels such as Dogmatik, Objektivity, Deeply Rooted House and Apollonia and the revived Nu Groove label via Defected. Showcasing his talents to a new audience of house music lovers.
Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N'Deep in 2017 via clone distribution, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists.
Jovonn has work on tracks and remixes from such prestigious artists such as Louie Vega, Kai Alce, DJ Spen, Delano Smith to name a few.
3. Sly Foux
Sly Foux, a Petersburg VA native veiling with an eclectic style of House Music. Sly gets dubbed “The Chameleon'' because not only does Sly find the smoothest blends, he’s also the most adaptable- always reading the vibe, and making sure he’s contributing the right energy for the room.
Sly Foux crew AnomalisRadio that now has 53 guest mixes from 5 countries & 2 original albums, Dear World and Universal Transmission(including a 13 track cassette compilation) and a 4 track EP.
Sly Foux sets are always bursting with excitement, fast paced transitions taking you from modern Afro-House to the classic sound of Chicago & Detroit Deep House.
Sly Foux is now working on a live vocal house compilation due by the fall of 2024.
4. Mix Master Marc
DJ Mix Master Marc M3 is a talented DJ and music mixer based in Richmond, Virginia. His passion for music lies back as far as 1986. Born and raised in the south side of Richmond, Marcus has been spinning tunes since the days of turntables and raw skills. His mixes cover various genres, from soulful house old-school seventies and eighties music to rap and beyond.
Mix Master Marc M3 host a radio show on Twitch platform to a global audience as he continues to blend tracks and entertain viewers, staying true to his roots in the art of DJing.
5. Tony Fernandez
Born and raised in New York gave DJ Tony the foundation for his love of music. Living in Richmond, VA has allowed him to flourish and share his passion for the Groove.
If an event has music, you can count on Tony to find the right tone for the tunes needed. House music and Dance music in general is Tony’s Love. If not playing the beats that make you groove, Tony is creating the beats under Deep South.
Festivals, night clubs, arenas, local, regional, or nationally, Tony can and will deliver a sonic experience like no other.
6. J. Kirven
J. Kirven, the maestro of beats from Richmond, VA—a DJ who brings the authentic Amapiano experience to life, channeling the vibrant sounds of South Africa's music scene. With a proven track record of electrifying venues in Washington DC and the Virginia Beach area, J. Kirven is more than just a musical virtuoso; he’s a cultural ambassador.
Known for seamlessly weaving together new and authentic electronic tunes from Africa, his sets are a unique blend of entertainment. Each track tells a story, transitioning from familiar beats that set the crowd in motion to introducing the latest sounds from the African electronic music landscape.
