About this Event

Join the and at the Esplanade Playspace on the Esplanade for a family-friendly music and movement session for children and families of all ages! This session will take place on Saturday, May 21 from 10am to 11am.

This music & movement session is designed for children and their caregivers. Children will sing songs, dance to music, and enjoy storytime led by trained Boston Music Project teaching artists. Caregivers are encouraged to attend and take part in the music games with their children. When registering, caregivers should select tickets for both themselves and their child/children.

This music and movement session is part of the Esplanade Association's first Esplanade Community Day on Saturday May 21, also featuring the Esplanade 5K at 9am and a special GroundBeat Music Concert Featuring BAMS Fest at the Hatch Shell from 11am to 4pm. We hope you and your family can join us for this progam-packed day on the Esplanade!

The Esplanade Playspace is located in just off the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge on the Esplanade. Please note that the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge is currently closed for renovations and may not be open on this date. The best points of access on the Esplanade that are a short distance to the Esplanade Playspace are the Frances Appleton Footbridge (connecting Charles Circle to the park) and the Dartmouth Street Footbridge.


The Esplanade Association () is a nonprofit organization that works to revitalize and enhance the Charles River Esplanade, sustain its natural green space, and build community in the park by providing educational, cultural, and recreational programs for everyone. Working in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Esplanade Association is dedicated to improving the experiences of the millions of visitors who enjoy Boston’s iconic riverside park.


Boston Music Project (BMP) is a creative youth development 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering before, after, and in-school music programming to elementary, middle, and high school youth throughout Boston. For over a decade, BMP has remained committed to building community and joy through music and empowering Boston youth to develop the life-skills needed to find success in all they seek to achieve.
