ESL for Mental Health and Wellness
About this Event
Join us for an 8-week English as a Second Language (ESL) program designed for refugees and newcomers, who want to improve their English in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
Dates: Tuesdays, July 7 to August 25
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: RBC Patient and Family Learning Space (PFLS) at CAMH
1025 Queen Street West, Ground Floor
This program combines English language learning with mental health literacy to help participants build confidence in everyday communication, learn about mental health and wellness, and better navigate healthcare and community services. Through practical activities and guided discussions, participants will practice English skills related to daily life and navigating the health care system. Participants will have opportunities to connect with others, build confidence, and strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves and their families.
Classes are trauma-informed, flexible, and paced to meet learners where they are. No advanced English skills are required.
This program is facilitated in partnership with COSTI Immigrant Services
*This is an in person session at 1025 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario.
