ESEA Gathering of Flourishing Roots (June)
About this Event
A community-led series by East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESAS)
This is the third session of our 2026 Regenerative Community Gatherings series for East and Southeast Asian communities in Edinburgh.
Join us for a gentle, creative, and grounding afternoon centred on care, reflection, and community. Together, we will create space to connect with ourselves and one another in a welcoming environment.
Each gathering brings together art-making, somatic storytelling, body awareness, and gentle movement practices, inviting participants to explore creativity, reconnect with their bodies, and share experiences with others in a supportive and nurturing space.
✨ Talisman Making with Keng Keng
Led by Glasgow-based textile artist and arts activist Keng Keng, this hands-on workshop invites participants to create personal textile talismans carrying messages, affirmations, memories, or intentions for themselves and their communities.
Through stitching, layering, fabric, and collective making, we will co-create small objects of grounding, protection, and care — something to hold, wear, and return to 🌱
🌿 Somatic Storytelling & Gentle Movement Session
Somatic storytelling, body awareness, and gentle movement practices supporting grounding, presence, ease, and reconnection with the body.
🍲 Community Meal by Naya
Diaspora ESEA food rooted in care, comfort, and belonging. Naya will be sharing a thoughtfully curated community meal inspired by family heritage and flavours from across Asia and the UK.
💛 Expect shared food, creative expression, and space to rest, connect, and be held in community.

This event is open to all people of colour who have experienced racial and religious discrimination, as well as challenges connected to migration in the UK. We invite you to join us in a space of acceptance, care, creativity, and togetherness.
While rooted in East and Southeast Asian community care and gathering practices, we warmly welcome people of colour from diverse communities to join us in a space of grounding, rest, creativity, and connection.
East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESAS) is a community organisation centred on justice, care, and migrant rights, creating spaces for collective healing, creativity, and connection across racialised communities.
