Erin Roukous (like “Lucas”) is a classically trained electroacoustic harpist and music educator. Their solo performances showcase an unexpected side of the harp; using a looper and FX pedals, Erin builds hypnotic and shimmering layered arrangements of both familiar and lesser-known tunes. Erin holds a degree in Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory and taught in schools (pre-k-1st grade; 10th-12th grade) for five years. Now a full-time performer, Erin launched a music education program for adults this past spring called “Harp Club RVA”—twelve total beginners are welcomed for a hands-on harp class hosted pop-up style at a different venue each month. (Jr. version for kids in the works.) In addition to a busy performance schedule and group classes, Erin also maintains a private teaching studio and is principal harpist of the Northern Neck Orchestra.
