“SPORT” on kunstniku, koreograafi ja etendaja Erik Valentin Bergi mitmest soolost koosnev projekt. ”SPORDI” alguspunktiks on spordi imeline fenomen: on raske ette kujutada, millisel määral on läbi ande, võistlemise ja treenimise ideede saanud spordist osa meie teadvusest, kehadest ja suhetest. Eraldiseisvad soolod töötavad sportlaseks olemise sotsioloogia, psühholoogia ja koreograafiaga – kuidas nii sportlased kui ka etendajad loovad oma tööga kindlat tüüpi kehasid, liigutusi ja harjumusi.Kanuti Gilldi SAALis esitatakse samal õhtul seeria kahte osa – “Il Genio”, mis sünnib koostöös Andrius Mulokasega, ning “Perfekt” koostöös Nadia Voorhamiga. Kahe soolo kõhedust tekitav erinevuste ja sarnasuste ulatus viitab osale paljudest ideedest, mille sport on maailma loonud. Hoolimata sellest, kas sa harrastad sporti, huvitud sellest või väldid seda kogu südamest, on see meile tuttavas maailmas alati kohal.
Erik Valentin Berg on koreograaf ja etendaja. Tema töö otsib järjepidevalt kunsti, publiku ja konteksti kohtumiste potentsiaali. Teosed, mida iseloomustab eristuv, tume ja tajutav esteetika, püüvad rõhutada ja esile tuua ideoloogiat sotsiaalsetes kokkulepetes. Ta on omandanud bakalaureusekraadi esteetikas Södertörni Ülikoolist ning koreograafia magistrikraadi Stockholmi Kunstiülikoolist. Tema töid on viimase 15 aasta jooksul näidatud nii riiiklikult kui ka rahvusvaheliselt.

SPORT is a project composed of a number of solos by the artist, choreographer, and performer Erik Valentin Berg. SPORT takes its starting point in the incredible phenomenon of sports:
in ways we can hardly imagine, sports have become part of our psyches, bodies, and relationships through its ideas of talent, competition, and training. The individual solos work through the sociology, psychology and choreography of the athlete – how both athletes and performers produce particular types of bodies, movements, and habits through their work.
In Kanuti Gildi SAAL two parts will be presented on the same night – Il Genio performed and developed in collaboration with Andrius Mulokas and Perfekt performed and developed in collaboration with Nadia Voorham. The haunting span of likeness and difference in the two solos speaks of the many ideas that sports have created in this world. Whether you practice, take an interest in or wholeheartedly reject sports in your life, it is omnipresent in the world as we know it.
Erik Valentin Berg is a choreographer and performer. His work is a consistent exploration of the potential in the encounter between artwork, audience, and context. The pieces, clad in a distinct, dark and palpable aesthetic aim to uncover and underline ideology in social contracts. He has a B.A. in aesthetics from Södertörn University and an M.A. in choreography from Stockholm University of the Arts. His work has been shown nationally and internationally for the past 15 years.
