ERICA MOU: SOMETHING YOU'LL HATE ME FOR
About this Event
We are delighted to welcome back to Voce, Italian novelist & musician ERICA MOU for an intimate evening of discussion about her new HÉLOÏSE PRESS novel of motherhood & movement SOMETHING YOU’LL HATE ME FOR.
In her early 20s, she can touch stardom with the tips of her fingers. Gigs are more frequent, tours are longer, record sales increase, but when her mother Lucia breaks devastating news, Erica needs to find a way to navigate her demanding career as a singer with an aching heart. In this tender exchange of voices years later, we discover Lucia through the lenses of her own diary, and Erica’s memories.
Erica has finally found the courage to retrace her mother's last nine months, as she embarks in her own journey to become a mother.
The event will be chaired by Voce Books co-owner, MARIA LOMUNNO JUDD.
This event forms part of our BORDERLESS SEASON—a programme of events celebrating language, literature in translation & ideas from around the globe.
