First, watch the original 2021 "rolling seminar" discussion between Williams and former NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver, FAICP on the evergreen topic of finding the courage and techniques to commit authentic and effective equity policy. Listen to insights as the lens captures grand shots of pedaling through some of Harlem and the South Bronx's most iconic thoroughfares to visit the once-serially neglected neighborhood parks reenlivened by Silver's equity-driven approach to administration. Short talk back with Williams about making the flim and ride.
11AM-1 PM
Then relive the ride. (Optional, limited to 30 riders)
Retrace the route from the film, riding along some of the uptown's most iconic and essential throughfares on a marshalled group ride (outstanding graduates of The Brown BIke Girl's El Barrio Bikes community cohorts). Plant your feet in the same 4 neighborhood parks including democracically design MLK Jr Park nestled in a public housing project and award winning South Bronx's Evelina Antonetty Park and learn of updates on ever-changing equity policies and the state of the Neighborhood Parks Initiaitive.
