Join us for a one-day workshop on Equity for Leaders, facilitated by renowned leader in Māori development, Treaty rights, language advocacy, and education, Dr Hana O’Regan.

This interactive workshop will provide context of the equity debate in Aotearoa, followed by an exploration of individual experiences and understanding of equity at a personal and organisational level. You’ll enhance your awareness of historic inequities and how they flow through to today, and gain insight into the three equity lenses: equity mindset, equity by design, and equity in action.

In this interactive workshop you’ll engage in discussions — reflecting on your own experiences and personal relationship with equity in your sector. Come prepared to elevate your level of compassion and commitment to addressing inequity, and take away practical tools to take action.

This workshop is ideal for leaders who are interested in understanding equity and want to learn practical tools to make a difference in their workplaces and communities.

During the workshop, attendees will:

• Learn about the root causes of inequities in Aotearoa
• Broaden understanding of the context of the equity debate in Aotearoa
• Explore your personal relationship to equity in their sectors
• Take away tools to unpack equity for leadership
• Develop strategies for effectively addressing equity and creating change

Dr Hana O’Regan (Kāi Tahu / Pākehā) is an internationally recognised champion of language, culture and equity. An acclaimed expert on Te Reo Māori, she focuses on indigenous language revitalisation within her Kāi Tahu community, across Aotearoa and within communities around the globe.

Hana is Tumu Whakarae / CEO of Tātai Aho Rau Core Education — a world-class organisation enabling cultural collaboration and transformation in the contemporary learning environment. She was previously general manager of Oranga / Wellbeing for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and director of Māori and Pasifika at Ara Institute of Canterbury.

Hana is a talented composer and accomplished author. She has held leadership positions on national boards, review panels and committees and was recently appointed to the Waitangi Tribunal.
