This lecture-based and practical one day workshop is aimed at clinicians hoping to update their approach and management of common respiratory conditions as well as review the current procedures available when referring cases for surgery. Lectures from experienced clinicians will be held in the morning with practical and case-based discussion sessions in the afternoon.
Course Description

Lectures in the morning will discuss the use of both static and dynamic endoscopy when evaluating a horse that makes a respiratory noise, with tips on how to achieve the best results out in the field. Current surgical options will then be reviewed to help delegates feel confident discussing options or referring to colleagues. The morning session will also cover the theory of an emergency tracheostomy, why and how. Medicine clinicians will discuss updates on dealing with asthma cases, infectious disease and case-based discussion around imaging the respiratory tract.

The afternoon will be practical sessions and case-based discussions, where delegates will have the opportunity to perform emergency tracheostomy on a cadaver, discuss diagnostic imaging, sampling and result interpretation, and case based discussion on diagnosis, treatment options and managing complications.
