π΄ 6 spaces per workshop (4 spaces left)
π΄ IMPORTANT NOTEπ΄
This workshop is for allied health professionals who are already working within their scope of practice. An allied health professional is typically at a minimum Bachelor trained in their field.
'Allied Health' fields typically relevant in this context include:
Physiotherapists
Occupational therapists
Speech pathologists
Psychologists
Social workers
Counsellors
Exercise physiologists
If you are in a field different to those mentioned above, please reach out to see if this workshop is suitable for you before booking.
**International attendees are welcome.
We will be teaching you horse-handling skills, however this 3-day workshop does not equip you with enough horsemanship to provide equine therapy on your own. This workshop will serve as either an introduction to the field, or a professional development opportunity for those already in the field. Your core training to become and equine-assisted therapist will be extensive, it is not something that can be covered in a 3-day workshop.
Previous horse handling experience is a benefit, but not compulsory.
The workshop is all ground work (as is our equine-therapy style).
This workshop is suitable for clinicians who are already working with horses in therapy, who want to start their equine therapy journey, or who are working/wanting to work alongside an equine specialist in their therapy sessions.
We will be spending 3 days together getting to know the horses (brumbies, who have been trained specifically for therapy), teaching you how to structure an equine-assisted session, doing role plays and skill development in ethical horsemanship. Topics such as equine body language and learning theory will be applied to horsemanship skills.
This is a hands-on workshop, expect to be up and about for 3 days!
