Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is a global movement to ensure that everyone can access the same opportunities with values placed on the differences between people and measurement of how safe and welcome they feel in their environment. To achieve this, there must be a deliberate effort to raise awareness about its relevance to peaceful coexistence and socioeconomic development in our community. The workshop will focus on:
What EDI represents.
Importance of EDI.
How to accommodate unique perspectives.
Our roles as individuals and micro-organizations to drive EDI. Unconscious biases and stereotyping.
How can we promote EDI and eradicate prejudice and discrimination based on individual or group of individuals' protected characteristics in our community?
You are invited to come network, learn and explore familiar scenarios and practices to push for important social change.
CONNECTIONS THAT CHANGE LIVES
JCI (Junior Chamber International) is a global network of active young people from across the globe. JCI provides its members with training and leadership opportunities, networking, social events and projects in their local community. JCI members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and sectors. From students to solicitors, entrepreneurs to engineers, our membership is open to anyone aged 18-40. People join JCI for lots of different reasons but everyone is passionate about making a change to their lives and the lives of others.
