About this Event
Electric Company Theatre presents a staged-reading of excerpts from Epigone, a play currently in development. Epigone is a genre-bending exploration of a family’s attempt to navigate grief and loss, complicated by the stigmas surrounding mental health, addiction and isolation. Drawing from classical themes including familial curses, our responsibilities to the dead and the inevitable journey to the underworld, the story merges installation art, physical theatre and suspenseful narrative. This window into the early stages of new play development is presented within the annual “Death Café” and includes a discussion with the artists about the stages and processes of new play development.
This event is free but donations to the Heart of the City Festival are welcome!
