About this Event
Embark on an epic journey of retribution with a dedicated group of readers. We will meet once a month to read and discuss The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas in six parts. Please see reading schedule below.
Readers can join a meeting at any point in the series. For example, you can join Meeting #1, skip Meetings #2-3, and rejoin at Meeting #4. Or you can miss Meetings #1-4, and join at Meeting #5.
Although anyone and everyone is welcome to join a meeting, it is strongly encouraged to have completed the chapters beforehand. With everyone being on the same page (haha!), members can freely discuss the chapters without spoiler warnings or taking time out of the discussion to explain the plot. By attending meetings, you are accepting exposure to all spoilers.
Only ticketed persons may attend the meeting which is held upstairs in our private event space. Any guests may wait in our cafe area.

Synopsis
Thrown in Pr*son for a crime he has not committed, Edmond Dantes is confined to the grim fortress of If. There he learns of a great hoard of treasure hidden on the Isle of Monte Cristo and he becomes determined not only to escape, but also to unearth the treasure and use it to plot the destruction of the three men responsible for his incarceration. Dumas' epic tale of suffering and retribution, inspired by a real-life case of wrongful imprisonment, was a huge popular success when it was first serialized in the 1840s.
