Environmental Stewardship Training at Cannonsburg State Game Area
Join the West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance and the Kent Conservation District for a unique volunteer opportunity focused on protecting and restoring the natural landscapes that surround our trails.
Meet: Gravel parking lot along Dursum Road (see event map for exact location, (43.03567, -85.49035)
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
We'll kick off the morning with a hands-on training session covering how to identify and manage invasive plants along trail corridors. Then we'll partner with the Kent Conservation District to help remove Spotted Knapweed along their Oak Savanna restoration project.
Please Note: This is an environmental stewardship event. We will not be working directly on the mountain bike trails.
What to bring:
Work gloves
Water
Long pants
Bug spray (recommended)
All tools will be provided.
