Learn about the role that environmental risk factors play in Iowa's high cancer rates — and what it means for Iowans' health now and in the future.
In this special Polk County conversation, authors of the new report "Environmental Risk Factors and Iowa's Cancer Crisis" will present findings on pesticides, nitrate, PFAS, and radon, and their associations with cancer in Iowa.
Plus, we'll share actionable ways you can get involved in the movement for change.
Iowa's cancer rate is the second highest in the nation, and we are one of just a handful of states where rates of cancer are increasing. If you've been impacted by cancer or you are concerned about Iowa's future, this session is for you.
Attendance is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are appreciated. This event is hosted by the Iowa Environmental Council, the Iowa Farmers Union, the Iowa Division of the Izaak Walton League, and the Panora Conservation Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.
The event will take place at the Learning Resource Center, 3550 Mills Civic Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50265
