Enter the Dragon (1973) film screening at the Abbeydale Picture House

2023 marks the 50th Anniversary of Bruce Lee's final film - Enter the Dragon (1973) - an anniversary which will be celebrated with a special screening at Sheffield's historic Abbeydale Picture House, presented by Reel Steel.

Enter the Dragon is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential martial arts movies of all time – in it we follow Lee, a Shaolin martial artist from Hong Kong, who receives an invitation to a deadly martial arts tournament organised on an island fortress by the criminal warlord known as Han.

Lee accepts the challenge, going undercover on a mission to restore Shaolin honour and avenge the death of his sister, in the most enthralling martial arts movie of its time.

Marking the 50th Anniversary of the film, and 50 years since the untimely death of Bruce Lee (which occured 1 month before the release of Enter the Dragon), see why Bruce Lee became known across the world as one of the most exciting stars on screen, with this presentation of his final film.

Doors open - 6pm

Film starts - 7:30pm.

Ahead of the film starting, we'll have the videogame classic Tekken 3 (1997) hooked up to the big screen - from a PlayStation Classic (PS1) console - for anyone to play and test their fighting skills, ahead of seeing this classic martial arts film.

Please note that this film has an 18 certificate - entry to this event will only be for those (including ticket holders) above this age.

Due to renovation building work taking place in the Abbeydale Picture House auditorium, this screening will take place in the venue's Fly Tower Cinema. This cinema space is not wheelchair accessible.
