Ensemble Eclectica weaves together early music and contemporary classics into a lively and light-hearted conversation between genres and styles. From Thelonious Monk on the lute, to gentle scat improv on a song from Shakespeare’s time.

This innovative quartet (featuring: local legend Louise Grasmere vocals, cigar-box guitar; Professor Rick McLaughlin, bass; internationally recognized Fabio Pirozzolo on hand percussion; and Music Director Peter Lehman, theorbo and 7-string guitar), takes listeners on a journey spanning centuries. Their sound sparks unique musical connections with its own authenticity – that’s at once ancient and strangely contemporary. Both old and new, surprising and unique.
